If you discover a water leak or if a pipe bursts, please turn off the valve (rotate clockwise) and notify Maintenance immediately. However, if the valve does not turn fairly easy - please dont force it. Please shut windows during winter break, and we ask that you keep your heat maintained at a temperature of no lower than 60 degrees, to avoid frozen pipes. If pipes freeze due to your negligence, you will be charged!!!DISHWASHERSIn order to reduce maintenance problems with dishwashers, thefollowing guidelines should be used: Scrub dishes first, especially if it will be a few days before you run the load. Be sure the product is advertised as anautomatic dishwasher detergent, not one for hand washing dishes. DO NOT OVERLOAD.Once a month, pour a cup of distilled vinegar in the dishwasher and run it empty, or use a dishwasher cleaner. Portabledishwashers are not allowed.HAZARDOUS ITEMS a.Firearms, including pellet guns and BB guns, and explosives (includingfirecrackers), and toxic or dangerous chemicals are stictly prohibited onthe premises. b.No items will be stored in public areas, hallways, laundry rooms, utilty rooms, etc. Bicycles and motorcycles must be kept in any areaprovided for same. No gasoline powered vehicle may be brought in orstored in any apartment or public area inside any building at any time. No flammable material may be stored or used on the premises. PEST CONTROLWe provide pest control service to all tenants. United Apartments hascontracted with Four Seasons Exterminating to maintain a preventative program throughout the year. In addition, we have a regular schedule for individual residences each month. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment or to report a specific problem.INFESTATIONSTenant(s) are responsible for inspecting the dwelling within 48 hours after move-in/renewal of any infestations including bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, etc. and notifying landlord of the infestation.Tenant is responsible for letting landlord know of any infestation at any period of time during their residency.Tenant is also responsible for letting landlord know if they were aware of any infestation in their previous apartment, home or dwelling. If exterminator concludes that there is an infestation and tenant is at fault tenant(s) will be responsible for infestation remediation efforts and cost; to Landlord's satisfaction.10"
